Gel Nails and Sports — Do They Last?
Are you active, sporty, and want to keep beautiful nails without sacrificing your workout routine? Good news: The Care Gel nail wraps are designed to withstand daily life — including sports. Here's everything you need to know.
Gel nail wraps and sports in general
The big question all our athletic customers ask themselves is: will my nail wraps stay on during my workout?
The short answer: yes — with a few nuances depending on the type of sport and the intensity of the effort. Our gel nail wraps are cured under a UV lamp, which creates a strong bond with the natural nail. They resist sweat, friction, and daily impacts.
The golden rule: wait 24 hours after application before engaging in intense sports activity. This allows the gel wrap to create optimal adhesion with the nail.
Tips to make them last longer during sports
Top Coat — your best ally Before a swimming session or an intense activity, apply a thin layer of The Care Gel Top Coat to your nails. Cure for 60 seconds under the UV lamp. This protective layer seals the edges and reinforces adhesion.
The edges — the area to watch On very active nails, it's always the edges that give way first. That's why it's very important to press them down well during application before curing them under the UV lamp.
What really damages gel nail wraps during sports
→ Soaking hands in water within 2 hours of application
→ Scratching or rubbing nails directly on a rough surface
→ Lifting the edges of the nail wrap
Gel nail wraps vs. classic nail polish during sports
Classic nail polish chips after the first intense sports session. Sweat softens it, impacts crack it, water peels it off.
Semi-permanent polish resists better but remains vulnerable to chlorinated water, impacts, and repeated friction.
The Care Gel nail wraps are the most resistant solution for active women — thanks to the rigidity of UV-cured gel and the stretchy material that absorbs small impacts without cracking.
